Texarkana, AR – AR-TX REDI (Arkansas Texas Regional Economic Development, Inc.) is proud to announce that Amazon has chosen Texarkana, Arkansas, as the site for its newest last-mile distribution center. The project, which will create up to 100 new jobs, represents a significant investment in the region, with Amazon purchasing an additional 15 acres in the Robert Maxwell Industrial Park, offering the potential for future expansion.

AR-TX REDI spearheaded the project from start to finish, identifying the ideal property within the industrial park, which is owned by the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce. REDI negotiated a fair price per acre and worked hand-in-hand with Amazon’s economic development team and their commercial real estate developer, Pure Development, to bring the project to fruition.

“Working with Amazon and Pure Development was a true partnership,” said Rob Sitterley, President and CEO at AR-TX REDI. “We were able to overcome challenges from easements to abandon phone line to the relocation of a gas line. Every step of the way, REDI ensured that Pure Development had the answers they needed quickly, allowing Amazon to move forward without delay. Our commitment to being a single point of contact helped accelerate their speed to market.”

Robin Hickerson, CEO of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, also praised the collaboration. “The Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to have been part of this transformational project,” Hickerson said. “The partnership between REDI, Amazon, and the Chamber highlights what can be achieved when our community works together. We are excited to welcome Amazon to Texarkana and look forward to the positive impact they will have on our local economy.”

The distribution center is expected to drive significant economic growth, providing well-paying jobs and bolstering the region’s logistics infrastructure. With the acquisition of 15 acres, Amazon has positioned itself to expand in the future, ensuring that Texarkana remains a strategic hub for its operations.

The Texarkana Chamber of Commerce, which has been integral to the region’s growth, has been a key partner in this project. Their ongoing collaboration with REDI has laid the groundwork for future development opportunities.
